Call for Papers
As a Scientific Research Conference Organizer, Elections are key components of any democratic system so Global Academic Research Institute (GARI) is proudly presenting the 05th International Conference on Election and Democracy (ICED 2026) under the theme of "Develop and Protect Humanity". After the successful completion of 03 conferences, we would like to invite you to submit abstracts & papers addressing the conference theme and the conference tracks. Papers and invitations for abstract submissions are now open for Oral presentations covering current research and new processes. All contributions should be of high quality. During the review period, Papers will be reviewed by eminent scholars in the respective areas.
Two types of submissions are invited:
01. Full papers reporting on original and unpublished research
02. Work-in-progress papers or Abstract or Case Studies or Projects
The intention is that the conference will become established as a pre-eminent forum for the discussion of Election and Democracy matters in the common Democracy world. The Conference is to provide a platform for academics, researchers, professionals, administrators, educational leaders, policymakers, industry representatives, advanced students, and anyone in the domain of interest from around the world to discuss. Speakers are encouraged to submit a full paper before the conference. In addition, all the submitted full papers will be reviewed by the journal editorial board and a few high-end papers will be published in GARI e-Journal having ISSN & DOI, and All Selected papers will be published in conference printed proceedings having ISBN as well as a conference library page.

Print & Online proceedings Book will include "Extended Abstracts", it should be at least three pages, but not more than five pages in length including the references. The word limit is 1000 - 1200 words.

Electoral Systems & Voting Mechanisms
- Comparative analysis of electoral systems (first-past-the-post, proportional representation, mixed-member, ranked-choice, etc.), constituency delimitation, threshold effects, ballot design, voting technologies (electronic, postal, blockchain), and their impact on representation and governance.
Democratic Governance & Institutional Frameworks
- Separation of powers, parliamentary vs. presidential systems, federalism and decentralization, constitutional design, checks and balances, legislative accountability, executive oversight, and strengthening democratic institutions against authoritarian backsliding.
Electoral Integrity, Transparency & Observation
- Prevention of electoral fraud and manipulation, voter registration accuracy, transparent vote counting, election monitoring (domestic and international), observer missions and reporting standards, auditing mechanisms, and building public trust in electoral outcomes.
Political Participation, Voter Turnout & Civic Engagement
- Factors influencing voter turnout (age, income, education, geography), youth and first-time voter engagement, diaspora and absentee voting, voter education and awareness campaigns, civic literacy, direct democracy mechanisms (referendums, initiatives), and barriers to participation.
Campaign Finance, Political Parties & Regulation
- Political funding and expenditure limits, transparency in campaign donations, state funding of parties, corporate and foreign influence, regulation of political advertising (traditional and digital), anti-corruption measures, and enforcement of finance laws.
Media, Disinformation & Electoral Communication
- Role of traditional and social media in elections, regulation of political advertising online, combating fake news and misinformation, fact-checking mechanisms, algorithmic amplification and echo chambers, media bias, hate speech regulation, and protection of press freedom during elections.
Inclusion, Representation & Minority Rights in Democracy
- Reservation and quota policies (gender, caste, ethnicity, religion), representation of marginalized communities (indigenous, disabled, LGBTQ+, linguistic minorities), accessibility of polling stations, combating voter suppression, and ensuring equal participation in democratic processes.
Electoral Disputes, Legal Frameworks & Judicial Oversight
- Election petition mechanisms, adjudication of electoral disputes, role of election commissions and tribunals, judicial review of election laws, disqualification of candidates, dispute resolution timelines, enforcement of rulings, and legal remedies for electoral violations.
