Call for Papers
As the organizer of the scientific research conference, The Global Academic Research Institute In Collaboration with the “Colour-Space-Culture” International Association Dr Larissa Noury presented, The Global Academic Research Institute 07th International conference on Apparel Textile and Fashion Design (ICATFD 2026) the theme of "Colour in Fashion – Making it Fast Lean and Green". We welcome proposals for papers and invitations for abstract submissions are now open for both Oral and Poster presentations covering current research and new processes. International papers from industry, academics, and researchers with new information, taking many different aspects of the textile industry forward in understanding or solutions. But not limited to conference scopes. All contributions should be of high quality. During the review period, Papers will be reviewed by eminent scholars in the respective areas.
Two types of submissions are invited:
1. Full papers reporting on original & unpublished research
2. Work-in-progress papers or Abstract or Case Studies or Projects
In addition, all the submitted full papers will be reviewed by the journal editorial board and a few high-end papers will be published in GARI e-Journal having ISSN & DOI
All Selected papers/abstracts will be published in conference printed proceedings having ISBN as well as a conference library page. For abstract submission fill in the online submission form or contact helpdesk@gariteam.com. Presentation time allocated 20 mins (15 min presentation 05 min questions)
In addition, all the submitted full papers published in the GARI International Journal of Multidisciplinary Research (www.research.lk) International Journal of Apparel Textile and Fashion Design as well as GARI Digital Research Library
Print & Online proceedings Book will include "Extended Abstracts" should be at least three pages, but not more than five pages in length including the references. The word limit is 1000 - 1200 words.

- Design thinking and process, sketching and illustration, pattern making and draping, garment construction techniques, color theory and forecasting, accessory design, couture and prêt-à-porter, and cross-cultural design aesthetics.

- Eco-design principles, zero-waste pattern cutting, upcycling and recycling, closed-loop production systems, biodegradable and compostable textiles, ethical sourcing, slow fashion movement, and life cycle assessment (LCA) of apparel.

- Fashion branding strategies, omnichannel retail, digital marketing and social media influence, consumer psychology, luxury vs. mass-market positioning, brand storytelling, visual merchandising, and customer loyalty in fashion.
Apparel Production, Supply Chain & Quality Management
- Lean manufacturing in apparel, production planning and control, supply chain logistics, vendor management, quality assurance (Six Sigma, ISO standards), automation and robotics in garment manufacturing, and factory compliance.
Fashion Technology, CAD & Digital Innovation
- Computer-aided design (CAD) for fashion, 3D garment visualization and virtual prototyping, digital pattern making and grading, fashion simulation software, virtual fashion shows, body scanning for custom fit, and AI in design and production.
Textile Chemistry, Dyeing & Finishing Processes
- Color science and dyeing techniques (natural, synthetic, digital printing), chemical finishing processes (waterproofing, flame retardant, antimicrobial), environmental impact of dyeing, effluent treatment, and innovations in eco-friendly chemistry.

- Historical costume and fashion eras, traditional textiles and regional crafts, embroidery and handloom traditions, indigenous design practices, textile conservation and preservation, cultural appropriation vs. appreciation, and revival of heritage crafts.
